The Dig premieres another new track, 'Astronaut' Posted on January 26th, 2017

The Dig have released another new single called 'Astronaut', ahead of Bloodshot Tokyo's release next week. The track premiered today via Ones to Watch, where frontman Emile shared some insight on the inspiration behind it:

I wrote the lyrics to Astronaut with David in the middle of the night out on a boat on a lake up in Connecticut last summer. It’s a song about two people that can’t see one another for what they actually are, they only see the framework of something foreign. Two people that are connected but not quite calibrated. One experiences the other the way an alien would experience a spaceman, the right experiences the left (and vice versa), a dog experiences a turtle etc. Now seems like an appropriate time to set it out into the universe.”

Listen to 'Astronaut' below, and be sure to catch The Dig on their North American tour this Spring!

For a limited time, tickets can be bundled with digital and physical pre-orders of Bloodshot Tokyo. For a full list of dates and to buy tickets, head to TheDigMusic.com.

Listen to The Dig's new single, 'Jet Black Hair' Posted on January 11th, 2017

The Dig have premiered their "warm [and] inviting" new single, 'Jet Black Hair', on FLOOD Magazine. This track is the latest release off the band's forthcoming album Bloodshot Tokyo, out everywhere February 3rd via Roll Call Records.

Here's what the band had to say about 'Jet Black Hair':

"We're not a folk band per se, but we've always loved folk music, and have tried to learn as much of it as we can in the hopes that it will show up in the songs in its own way. Jet Black Hair came out of a real life event, but it's filtered through a Rapunzel type story to mitigate some of the heaviness. Like Townes Van Zandt once said, no one wants to hear blues on blues on blues. And looking at it after the fact, the song appears to cover all of the stages of grief, without the acceptance phase."

Listen to the song below and catch The Dig on tour this Spring! For dates + tickets, and to pre-order Bloodshot Tokyo, head to TheDigMusic.com.

It’s indie rock having a late night encounter with a psychedelic pop dance party that just won’t stop, or more likely that I simply refuse to leave."
