River Whyless return with "Van Dyke Brown" 20 February 2018

Asheville's River Whyless have revealed a new song today titled "Van Dyke Brown" — out now on all digital platforms. The track premiered this morning at NPR Music and is the band's first musical offering since their 2017 take on Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Fortunate Son". Bassist and singer Dan Shearin noted that "this song stems from coming of age after a move to Asheville, NC — finding oneself, finding love, and coming to terms with death — discovering there is cause for celebration in all parts of life."

"River Whyless is a band whose members push themselves toward perfection while holding each other up and allowing for some risk-taking." – BOB BOILEN, NPR MUSIC

The Dig share "Moonlight Baby" & announce A Year of Music 24 January 2018

The Dig are back with their first new single of the new year, "Moonlight Baby", off the band's forthcoming EP of the same name. The new track premiered this morning on Consequence of Sound and came alongside the announcement of The Dig's upcoming Year of Music:

“This year we went back up to the beautiful Outlier Inn in upstate NY and made two new 6 song EPs, Moonlight Baby and Afternoon With Caroline.

If there's one thing that ties the two EPs together it's that all the songs are about moving. Moving toward some idea of home but never actually getting there. Moonlight Baby is about moving because you're forced to. A sudden shift in your reality without any advanced notice or preparation. Afternoon With Caroline is about moving of your own free will. Chasing ambition, following your heart and breaking free of toxic situations.

It's in this spirit that we'll be moving into 2018 with a whole new batch of tunes. Rolling them out one by one on this here playlist called El Dig (at Spotify and Apple Music).

We're also moving literally, across the US of A. Leaving NYC where we've lived for the entire life on the band, to a new home in sunny L.A.”

– The Dig (David, Emile, Erick & Mark)

Throughout the year, the band will be compiling the songs on their playlist titled El Dig: A Year of Music. A lucky few followers will be picked at random along the way to receive exclusive items such as colored vinyl, limited-edition single art prints, and more.
